Using Soft Power
The “Big Picture” approach helps clients target their use of “soft power,” a concept drawn from foreign policy. Soft power is the ability to persuade others to adopt your goals by using values, collaboration and culture. It is at the other end of the power continuum from the use of bombs and bullets to achieve foreign policy goals.
In organizations, soft power is the use of collaboration, alliance-building and effective communication to get things done. It contrasts with the use of “command-and-control” authority. In today’s complex business environments, Eileen helps clients improve their skills in the use of soft power.
